Going from "dream" to reality
We are so close to moving forward that I can almost taste it. Finally, after 29 years of living a life that was never "me", I get to go home and be what I am; a country boy.
Barbie is so good to me. I know she is worried about the unknown future. Even so, she is by my side, like always.
I am a blessed man!!!

Budgets, Money, and more Budgets
Probably should have worked today, but spent the day creating a cost estimate for our new log home. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so good at this.......
Then I could just fudge the numbers & beleive that I can pay cash for everything I want.
This home is an investment in an area of expensive homes. Can't go with cheap or used materials. Looks like a two year project to build it all with cash, one year of full time work on the house, followed by another year of working a day job and finishing the house part time.
At least the land, site improvements, shell, roof, windows and doors can go up with cash in hand.
Honey, any chance you want to camp out for the next 12 months? We could finish the basement with the saved rent.
I don't understand. Why aren't you laughing?
